Introduction
Platform One is an independent organisation that works in partnership
with the Isle of Wight College and University College Chichester to provide
high quality music and music technology provision at all levels.
Courses are based in Platform One's own dedicated premises - a 5 minute
walk from the Isle of Wight College - which accommodates professional
recording studios, music post production facilities, a specialist music
technology suite, fully equipped rehearsal rooms and DJ technology resources.
Endorsement deals with leading manufacturers ensure that quality equipment
is available to all students studying with Platform One.
In addition to your main qualification, students will have the opportunity
to study for additional, complementary qualifications. These currently
include practical grades on your main instrument taught by our experienced
specialist tutors, traditional music theory grades and key skills.
'Music students are highly motivated and are
competent performers, with performance disciplines well above the usual
standard for the stage of their course.'
'A unique feature of the curriculum is the
collaboration with an external, independent provider. This is a well-resourced
and well managed area which now provides the music curriculum'
